Taproot first gained national recognition with the release of their inspired debut album, Gift. It landed them on the Ozzfest tour that year, and subsequent tours with Deftones, Incubus, and Linkin Park. They followed that with the more complex reflection of Welcome in 2002. A lot of things have changed in the music scene since then, and Taproot has too. Their patented brand of emo-metal has never sounded better, and the August release of Blue Sky Research will leave all haters in a heap. We talked to frontman Stephen Richards and drummer Jarrod Montague about what makes them rock.
