DAEDALUS is an experimental progressive band from Genoa, Italy. The project takes its origin from the idea of creating something new and really original in the actual musical whirl. The quest for DAEDALUS members started a long time ago and went through a tiring period of investigation in a quite limited panorama of prog musicians. Finally in April 2000 they joined together and started working hard to reach their so wished musical identity.
In their music DAEDALUS try to combine a complex harmonic texture, elaborate rhythmic elements and clear melodic lines, melting and alternating different atmospheres in a gradual or sudden way, trying to create an overwhelming and fascinating musical journey. Each member of the band contributed to define their style, drawing inspiration from traditional rock and metal, classical music and jazz, adding original elements and experimentation. DAEDALUS band have been playing for several years in live performances, gaining a very good response from the audience. In October 2003 they signed a contract with New LM Records label and published their first album "Leading Far From A Mistake". Actually they are working on the songs for the second official release.

The eight tracks of the first album from DAEDALUS Italian prog metal band show all the nuances of their musical style: elaborate harmonic textures, enthralling rhythmic sections and clear melodic lines, ethereal fragments and sudden changes of colours and atmosphere, thus creating an overwhelming sound dimension while keeping the structure of the songs rather simple and flowing.
